We are a Shropshire based renewable installation company that has been established since 2010, installing and servicing of solar PV, solar thermal, air source heat pumps and LED lighting. During this time we have built up a large portfolio of domestic and commercial installations, with a total installed capacity of more than 1.25MW of solar PV installations and multiple air source heat pump and solar thermal installations.
Making sure that the way your system is connected to your roof is (in our eyes) the most important aspect of any solar pv installation. Knowing what type of roof construction your home has, as well as knowing how a system should be installed to each type, is crucial in ensuring the safety of the pv system and also protecting and prolonging the condition of your property roof timbers.
The Feed-in Tariff pays a tax free income to domestic households and an index-linked payment for both commercial and domestic installations. On top of this, solar PV generated electricity also produces substantial savings on your standard import / supply bill. Short answer; everyone! All PV installations under 5MW, private and commercial are eligible.
A south facing roof is not necessary. Even if your roof faces due east or west, solar panels are still a worthwhile investment. Solar PV panels on a typical UK roof, at a slope of 40 degrees, and facing due east or west will still generate over 80% of the electrical energy compared with one facing due south.
