Pontrilas Merchants is a family owned business with strong family values and part of the Pontrilas Group of Companies. Based on a six acre site, we are one of the largest independant timber and builders merchants in the region. We offer a large range of timber and building materials for all of your construction or DIY needs, which can be collected from our depot in Pontrilas or delivered directly to your site.
With over 50 years of experience in the timber trade we are able to offer you advice on your projects and the type of materials you may want to use. We have the largest stock of softwood and hardwood in the region, including FSC sourced materials meaning that we can supply high quality materials from well managed sources.
With 5 generations of experience in the timber industry, today the group take logs from the forest all the way to machined finished kiln dried timber. As well as home grown timber Pontrilas Merchants source specialist timbers from around the world. Timbers can be cut and pressure treated in our own facility to meet customer's specific requirements.

A proudly independently run caf, serving great hot and cold food and snacks, drinks, sweets and delicious cakes, made by us. We are open to serve Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch. The caf is located upstairs next to the interior displays in the merchants. Ideal for if you would like a tea break after looking around for your perfect new kitchen!

Available bespoke cut to your specific requirements, Pontrilas Merchants offer some of the very best quality green oak at competitive rates. We pride ourselves in the quality grade of oak we can supply and even offer D30 and D40 grade to order as well. Further to our green oak we can also supply a broad range of air dried constructional oak cut to size from the stock we hold on site.

We turned up 20 minutes before closing time on a Saturday, when any shop worker is thinking about closing up and getting home, and we were greeted by a friendly member of staff (whose name I learned was Ash) who really seemed to want to help. Ash went well out of his way to solve our DIY problem, and not only that, he saved us a tonne of cash too. The contrast with the big high street chains could not be more stark. This is what a builders' merchants should be like.

Ordered 14 lengths of decking last week told it arrive wed pm..it arrived wed am good i thought till i measured it. It was the wrong size 420 long instead of 480. Rung them up and sorted an exchange for thurs. Never arrived rung them back sorry it will be fri am waited in rung again at 1.30, sorry its on second run be with you by 3.30 to 4pm at latest. Same again rung them at 4.30 sorry driver had to return running out of hours deliver sat morning. All i can say is they quick to take your money but aftersales service is appalling especially as it was their fault to start with. How can you treat
