Shorehouse Design was incorporated in 2000 by two brothers, Dean and Paul Mackintosh. They begun trading as a property development company and had great success in building new build executive housing initially within the Thorpe bay area - before developing larger Victorian and Edwardian buildings in the Westcliff On Sea and Chalkwell area, turning large residential care homes and large independent dwellings into apartment complexes.
Shorehouse Design are always happy to visit you in your home to discuss your building project and requirements. A FREE quotation is always included in this first consultation meeting. If planning and design is required, you will be informed of those costs during consultation. Shorehouse Design has vast experience in pricing all aspects of building work.
What a team! We had the pleasure of working with Paul and his team over an extensive 12month project. After securing planning consent, Paul and his team were selected (from a long list of viable contractors). Paul showed a real passion for our project, coming up with some great ideas on better ways of doing things.
Shorehouse Design, are actively involved in commercial works and contracting, working with social housing services including Barking and Lewisham council, working on the renovation of council owned housing stock. In addition, Shorehouse Design have also been building maintenance contractors for large service providers such as Colt and more.
Shorehouse Design are vastly experienced in providing loft conversion solutions. With housing stock within Essex and having completed many conversions within the Essex area, it has become a main area of the business. Most Victorian housing stock lends itself perfectly for a loft conversion as generally the ridge height usually exceeds 2.5 meters, giving a good sized room with more than adequate head height.

Many thanks to Dean and the guys for our recent rear extension. We have previously used them for a front extension six years ago too. We have found the whole team to be friendly, approachable and reliable. Dean has run both projects efficiently and managed to deal with all of our requests along the way, including us in all the necessary decisions. We live in a 2 bedroom house in Leigh on Sea and had been thinking about a loft conversion for years but never knew where to begin. That was until one day when a friend of ours recommended Shorehouse Design, we gave them a call and they popped round to explain what would be possible and how to go about it. My wife and I purchased a 3 bed semi-detached which can only be described as a wreck! We used Shorehouse Design to carry out all the work and we are overjoyed with the result! The work was carried out on time and within budget to a very high standard. Shorehouse also helped us to reduce the cost of the work by suggesting cheaper alternatives to achieve the same end result and impressed us with their creative thinking to resolve structural issues.
