Specialising in Exterior House Painting and Property Maintenance for Kent and East Sussex. Old failed coatings removed and replaced by my specification on older timbers that are past their prime, can be deemed nearly maintenance free for 6 years. On Weatherboard/Bargeboards I have used Jotun Opaque Stains(Flexible alkyd/acrylic Paints to all intents and purposes), for all of that time.
These coatings were independently tested at The Building Research Establishment in the early 1980's and outperformed all the other coatings on test at the time. Mr Kellett has completely painted the exterior of my house, a 16th Century weatherboarded building, three times in the past 25 years, the most recent occasion being Summer, 2017.
On the first occasion Mr Kellett worked on the house in Summer 1996, he completely removed all the previous paint from the weatherboarding and carefully prepared and re-painted the house, external doors and window frames. He returned at our request in the Summer of 2008 and repainted the house again, and finally and most recently, repainted the entire exterior in Summer 2017 - again at our request.
