Our staff are DBS checked to give you complete confidence in our team. Lock Assist was started in 2003 years ago by Paul Harper-Smith who was taken on as an apprentice by his Uncle Colin in 1983.
Lock Assist are Locksmiths based in Haywards Heath and run a 24 hour emergency locksmith service for those times when you need to get into your property if you are locked out. Lock Assist offer non-destructive opening methods (where possible) throughout Sussex. This means if you are locked out of your home or office, we do try to pick open the lock first.

On 2 occasions I have needed help from a locksmith, one was last year on Christmas Eve when our front door lock gave up - Lock Assist came out within the hour, replaced it and also ended up putting a new lock on our garage (lost keys by previous owner) while they were there, for a small extra fee.
Today I needed some parts to assist with closing the back door in our new house.
On both times, Lock Assist have helped immediately without any issue - professional and really helpful.

I only discovered Lock Assist today when the barrel of my door broke. They were incredibly helpful and generous with advice talking me through how to remove the barrel myself rather jumping straight to a call out. They were then really impressive in providing a replacement barrel and explaining what had happened. All in all an outstanding customer experience. Thank you.

We had to change our locks yesterday as keys were stolen and someone from Lock Assist came within 10 minutes of my phone call. The locks were changed for us within a few minutes and the locksmith was very pleasant and polite. We were advised of the costs from the beginning and found it very reasonable. Would definitely use Lock Assist again.

On Saturday morning I turned up at a flat that I rent out to welcome new tenants and discovered I could not get in the front door. With the new tenants arriving imminently I must say I was getting rather stressed. I rang Paul and he was familiar with the block of flats and the locks and he explained to me over the phone how to get around the issue and release the lock. Problem solved! This advice was FREE and i appreciate his knowledge and honesty as I'm sure there would be other locksmiths who would charge for a call out. I would highly recommend Paul.

We asked Lock Assist to change the locks and also look into why the doors were not operating smoothly in our new house. They were able to offer appointments the next day and arrived on time. The job took less than an hour and three doors were adjusted to work as they should, with new locks fitted. We were advised that handles and other parts did not need changing as they still had lots of service life left, which was good as we expected to have to pay more to replace handles. The two men who did the work were friendly and professional, wearing uniform and complying with Covid 19 guidelines, so
