Services
It is fairly common to convert all or part of a loft to create an extra room in order to prevent needing to move to a new house. The most common additions are an extra bedroom or study. Many house owners also convert the loft to gain an extra bedroom with an ensuite and extra storage space. The attic area of a building tends to be unused, but when converted can add a large amount of floor space.
Sometimes your house is such that you can extend at the rear or the side as well as the loft to create an extra space in order to prevent moving to a new house. The most common additions are enlarging the rear part of the house and sometimes the side of the house with a loft conversion. The current trend nowadays is to create extra space in the house by doing a single storey rear extension either with a flat or a pitched roof along with patio doors. Most houses in the UK have capacity to extend to the rear and every homeowner has a right to extend upto a certain prescribed limit. Depending on the size of the extension, the homeowner may apply for permitted development or Planning permission.
A lot of streets in the UK have properties which are two or more storeys high and generally fall into the category of big huge houses. As maintenance of such big properties prove difficult many owners and developers convert the properties into flats which is also the demand of the current times. Any house, if it fulfils the basic criteria for conversion, would require planning permission before conversion into flats.
The most common type of extension nowadays is extending your kitchen. House built 100 years ago were not meant to accommodate the modern appliances that we use today.e.g.dishwashers, washing machine etc. Extending your kitchen to create an extra room can prevent moving to a new house and save you money in the process.

Yasmeen and Imtiaz were very good from the start of the project. They were easy to contact by email or phone and Yasmen would always phone back to speak with me if she was not available when I initially called. Yasmeen’s drawings were of a high quality and she promptly amended when needed. She providing good advice on the planning process and worked well with the local planning authority. I would highly recommend her and I would use her again for future developments if required.

I contacted Plan B Architecture regarding plans for a house conversion. Yasmeen drew up the plans and provided valuable guidance and advice on applying for planning permission in Lambeth. I was amazed by the attention to detail and how I was regularly updated on the progress of the application. I would definitely contact Yasmeen again if I required any architectural services.

I thought that applying for planning permission would be daunting, but Plan B Architecture and Yasmeen made the whole process really easy. They were reliable, arriving at the exact time for their appointment (unlike some other specialists who've let me down in the past) and were really friendly. Yasmeen clearly has a detailed understanding of the planning process and how the council approaches issues in practice, which was reassuring and helpful. She wasn't remotely bothered when I had a last minute change of mind on the design and explained everything clearly. Yasmeen also got the council to correct
