Our business has moved with the times, incorporating traditional ideas along with more recent concepts of garden design. Although advertising is important in creating new interest, referrals account for 60% of our business, providing us with an ever increasing customer base.

Services
At Garden First our reputation is everything and we will not cut corners in order to save time. Areas to be paved are excavated to the correct depth and backfilled using the appropriate subase, and then consolidated with a Vibrating plate to ensure a solid base for your new patio. We lay all paving on a full mortar bed with the correct falls to ensure adequate drainage.
As a Marshalls registered installer you are guaranteed complete satisfaction with your new driveway. Installed to the highest standard, using quality materials and a close attention to detail we are confident that your new driveway will not only serve its purpose for many years to come but will look fantastic due to careful planning and design features.
Over the years at Garden First we have had the experience of building various decks from 4 square meters to 60 square meters, on ground level, raised and terraced. Our approach is always the same, we use 4"x2" tanalised timber for the frame work which is screwed together. The frame is then bolted to the 4"x4" legs with coach bolts and a weed control membrane covers all exposed ground underneath.
As with all aspects of our work we regard the preparation of your new lawn to be as important as the turf we lay! That's why after spending a great deal of time ensuring that the levels in the garden are perfect, our preferred turf is Rolawn. As customer satisfaction is our primary aim we would always recommend using Rolawn which gives you an instant, lush green lawn.

Had Garden First to do my first garden in Killingworth over 7 years ago, they did such a fantastic job I got in touch when I moved house. Really glad to see they are so busy as this a great sign of a quality business. Steve gave me a realistic time scale which I really appreciated. Nothing worse than being promised something then not delivering. Personally I would rather wait for a quality local business.

We had a whole garden rip out carried out, Steve and his colleague arrived on the first day at 8:15am ready to start work, they had everything timed, skips being delivered, stones, paving etc. It ran like clock work from start to finish.
They have transformed our garden from an old concrete mess to a beautiful, modern low maintenance garden. It really will be a pleasure to sit and relax in. I couldnt be happier with the end result. Everything has been done to the highest standard. I cannot recommend Garden First enough. Thankyou so much.
