We are proud to install both Zappi and Rolec Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers, which are eligible for the OLEV grant (currently 350) and are compatible with ALL Electric Vehicles.

Carter Electrical is a small family business with well over 25 years experience in the Electrical Industry. Originally working as a sole trader, Mick Carter's sons Jon & Matt joined him and Carter Electrical Installation was established in 2008, based in central Reading. We are accredited by the NICEIC who inspect us annually to ensure we meet strict guidelines for installations.
No job too small (or large!) Whether it's a cracked socket faceplate or a whole house rewire, we'll be happy to provide a quote. Areas we cover are Reading, the rest of Berkshire, South Oxfordshire and North Hampshire. Rewires/extensions - if you require any of your house rewiring, or are extending it and want to add circuits, we can help.
We are proud to work with some of the big names in new build projects, such as Bewley Homes, McCarthy & Stone and Weston Homes. We can of course cover all aspects of your project, from lighting/electrical design, door entry systems, fire & emergency lighting systems, through first and second fix to certification and snagging.
Landlords' inspection although it's not as enforced as annual gas appliance services for tenanted homes, it is recommended that the electrics are tested every 5 years or at change of tenant. Many insurance companies will insist on this. Buying or selling your home. We cover central Reading and the rest of Berkshire, South Oxfordshire and North Hampshire.
We've been installing Solar PV systems in the Thames Valley since 2010. Although many installers have ceased trading as the Feed in Tariff has been scrapped, we're still installing and servicing systems. If you're interested, we can usually provide an initial quote and illustration without even visiting your home.

Carter electrical supplied and installed a Zappi v2 EV car charger within 2 weeks of my initial call. Survey was carried out next day, the installation price was cheaper than some national companies who then contract out their work to someone else. The installer turned up ready to start at the scheduled time and now just waiting for the car to turn up. Definitely recommend if your in the Reading area and getting an EV. They will also sort out the paperwork for the government grant.

Fantastic experience - highly recommended! Carter Electrical were brilliant from beginning to end. Martin was quick to come and assess the job, the quote was accurate (with no additional charges) and the install was wonderfully neat. Martin took the time to fully understand the oddities of the Tesla Wall Connector and worked with Tesla and me to ensure he was able to fully test and sign-off on the unit.
Martin and his colleague both followed Covid-19 social distancing guidelines in full and wore masks when in our property.
Highly recommended. Will use again in the future.

A simple job on paper, installation of extra sockets in garage, but carried out in my view to the highest standards. From initial contact to job completion professional all the way. I wish I had used them years ago. Fair price, excellent standard of work and friendly comms. I dont give 5 stars lightly but on this experience its deserved.
