Caroline Palk and Simon Bantock set up Ashton House Design in the 1990's so that they could share their experience in the industry with homeowners, corporate clients and property specialists.

Nearly every project starts with a conversation about rooms, the available space, and what is required by our client. It's essential to agree on how we set out any area before finishes are considered, whether we're addressing a single room in a home or an entire spa.
Interior design is a collaborative process. When you engage Ashton House Design you procure a team of professional designers, negotiators and planners. Our consistent and considerate team engage with you deeply on your project. As interior design consultants we aim to be involved early on in a project, often working alongside your architect.
Our stylish design studio is located in the heart of Ashburton, on the edge of Dartmoor, and centrally located between Exeter and Plymouth. Here we display the very best of our designs and suppliers alongside a comprehensive fabric and wallpaper library. We will invite you in to discuss your project and present our ideas from the comfort of a sofa or two whilst enjoying (as one client put it), one of our "legendary coffees".
We'll be able to identify how and who can best help you with your own particular needs. By arrangement we can then either invite you to our studio or visit you at your home or business address to move things forward. We look forward to hearing from you. You will find our Design Studio located just off East Street, 100 yards up from the Fish Deli, 2nd lane on the left.

We were lucky enough to buy our new house during the middle of the pandemic. Simon and the Ashton House team worked closely with us both on design and furnishings to give us our dream home. During difficult times where we had limited access to our home Simon listened carefully to our description of the home we wanted and then created a design that went well beyond our expectations.
Simon’s attention to detail is fantastic and the relationship he has with the various tradespeople involved with the project made everything as stress free as possible.

Ashton House Design worked closely with my chosen building firm on the refurbishment of a circa 400 year old cider apple barn. The confident and competent management of the team gave me significant reassurance that the project would be delivered in spite of my being remote from the site. They went to great lengths to ensure that the experience of creating my home was as stress free and enjoyable as possible in spite of the challenges projects inevitably face.
