Recently had our loft conversion done by Herts & Essex Lofts. Large bedroom and en-suite shower room. They were brilliant from start to finish. Very easy to work with and we had excellent communication with the project manager. Aside from the roofers, all of the tradespeople were wonderful. They were all polite and efficient, did excellent quality work and tidied and secured everything at the end of each day. The build was estimated at six weeks and it took about eight but only due to our door frames being an odd size and having to wait for a second order to be delivered. They are a well-oiled

We used Herts & Essex for a loft conversion. The whole team were exceptional in everything they did, from their workmanship to their attitude. They were friendly, approachable, knowledgeable and really good at their jobs, and nothing was a problem. Demi, especially, was brilliant. Every potential problem/query (not that there were many) we gave him he easily solved. This made the whole process as stress free as possible. I cannot recommend this company highly enough, we are really pleased with the result and it was done in super quick time. A special mention for Dean and Francis as well - really

I could not recommend these guys enough if you are considering a loft extension. The team were brilliant and considerate throughout the build. The project manager was excellent we felt in safe hands the entire way. The team who did the initial build were great and the contractors used throughout were again extremely professional and the end product we couldn’t be happier with. It’s given our little home a new lease of life. Thank you H&E!

Couldn’t recommend these guys more highly! We were so pleased with our loft and the team went out of their way to make sure we were happy and everything was finished to our exact specifications. The job was finished to a very high standard, for a very reasonable price and any queries were addressed straight away by their superb project manager Demi. An extremely professional company but more importantly for us, just absolutely lovely guys, friendly and considerate, it was a pleasure having them work in our home.

Couldn't be happier with our experience with Herts & Essex Lofts. We were nervous as we've had bad experiences with builders in the past but these guys were so great to deal with.
The costing was thorough and it was completely clear what was included, and at no point throughout the build was there any dispute over the agreed price.
Their teams are super polite, clean and tidy, and just generally nice to be around.
And the end result is just amazing, we are so pleased, really recomend these guys. The design means the loft just feels like part of the house and the finish is brilliant.

The John Lewis of lofts. You will find cheaper contractors but ultimately Herts and Essex will be more affordable in the long run as the level of quality, aftercare and peace of mind you get will pay for itself. We got three quotes, H&E were the only ones who insisted the party wall agreements were done properly. Had we gone with the others we may have faced legal action or problems when selling the property. H&E finished our job back in March but have been back multiple times to do finishes and snags, always v quick turnaround.

I cannot recommend Herts and Essex highly enough if you are thinking of converting your loft. I knew they had completed lots of conversions near us; so didn't doubt their experience or quality of work but what set them apart was the people. Everyone who came through our door was highly skilled; committed, professional, incredibly hard working and thoroughly decent. This was a major project for us and everything was clearly communicated throughout and ran smoothly with the help of Demi the project manager (a man who is not fazed by anything !). The different contractors and teams they use are retained

We were very pleased with the work done by H&E in building our new loft. Demi was very helpful and communicative throughout the process and kept us well informed. All the team were considerate and friendly throughout. We had a couple of issues with the staircase during the build but this was resolved swiftly and without fuss. All the snagging issues we've raised have been dealt with quickly. Overall the work has been to a high standard and has exceeded our expectations.

We got 5 different quotes from local companies all similar prices, but all had slightly different elements included and not included.
We originally went with another company as was slightly less and seemed to have good reviews. We pulled out after the owner, was very much all talk but not really wanting to hear our design ideas or suggestions, and felt like you were getting an off the peg standard loft, which we really did not want. So we parted ways, and hired H&E.

Marc, Demi and the team were fantastic from start to finish. We're so happy with our loft conversion in Buckhurst Hill. Everyone in the team was brilliant, highly skilled with a great attitude and no task was too big. I've heard lots of horror stories whereby people hire a company to convert their loft, and then never hear from the person who gave them the quote, or a project manager. We contracted Herts and Essex Lofts in March 2013 to convert our loft. From the outset we had total confidence of the quality we would get from Herts and Essex Lofts.
The lofts conversion was completed in about 7 weeks and everything went really smoothly. Not only the team was professional, efficient, and on time, but also everyone was nice and friendly.
Throughout the project we got really good advice on the areas we were unsure such as the location of the partition wall, the size and type of the velux windows or the stairs.
