If you are planning a new extension, or receive a Party Wall Notice from your neighbor contact Ray Young FRICS who will be able to advise you on all aspects of the Party Wall Legislation under the Party Wall etc Act 1996. Work close to (3-6 metres Notice) of an adjoining owner's building or boundary may, under certain circumstances, be subject to the Act. to ensure everything runs smoothly and avoiding any potential legal issues.
I carry out inspections to all property types to identify defects and recommend appropriate remedial work (or further investigations) where necessary. Ray has been involved in various projects and giving property advice to me since 1993. He is both knowledgeable and approachable. After researching the reviews on Mr. Young's website I commissioned him to carry out a level 3 RICS survey. His report was very thorough. For the purposes of a speedy response and to ensure I understood the defects which were picked up in the inspection he provided me with an early draft report. A final version was then provided.
I have since used his services to assist me with a full property refurbishment. I have found him to be very knowledgeable and able to suggest alternatives which I had not initially considered.
