Founded in 2008, we have acted for numerous homeowners, rural landowners and developers to unlock the full potential of their sites and homes. We realise their aspirations, discover hidden opportunities and maximise the value of their property investments. We solve the challenges of many building types - new and old - and have a particular passion and expertise in the creative reuse, retrofit and conversion of historic buildings.
We design sensitive additions, skilful interventions and distinctive developments to create homes and places of work that support our 21st century lifestyles and sustainability goals. Every project is unique and starts with a site visit, allowing us to assess the constraints and opportunities specific to the project location and context.
With a good understanding of your brief, aspirations, and budget we can begin to look at design concepts. We can also advise you on the best approach to secure planning permission. Working closely with you during the design process is the best way to guarantee a successful project outcome.

Services
Woodfield Brady Architects are an RIBA award-winning practice. Working from our studio in Newbury, we serve Berkshire, Oxfordshire and surrounding counties. Our work can be broadly arranged over three categories: bespoke family homes (new-builds, extensions and remodelling), residential developments (2 to 200 dwellings), and rural diversification involving the change of use of heritage assets often within sensitive settings.
Whether new build, conversion, extension or simply remodelling, our craft of (re)imagining a home for a particular client family is underpinned by a sensitive understanding of those individuals needs, and the special, particular characteristic of a site, building or context for the enhancement of family life together and with guests.
Careful planning and good design can maximise the value of any residential (re)development. We absolutely thrive on complex and challenging projects - often involving sensitive existing buildings - and always aim to deliver the highest quality residential environments by identifying each project's unique characteristics and opportunities for creativity.
Increasingly, our farmers and land owners are seeking ways in which to broaden the value of their rural assets.
Our strength and experience over many years of practice has been in unlocking the delivery of such plans, by sensitive conversion of obsolete building stock under change of use to commercial offices, equestrian centres, holiday lets and residential developments, together with a series of new private dwellings under recent permitted development - Part Q - legislation.

We are keen to hear from you to discuss your ideas and aspirations for your next grand design, residential development opportunity or rural diversification challenge. We are always happy to help, working with you to unlock the potential and enhance the value of any project. Please feel free to get in touch with us to discuss how we may be able to help with your project.

Having used Kevin at Woodfield Brady on a previous project, we had no hesitation in contacting them again for a new self build.
Kevin took my drawings, listened to what we were trying to achieve and came back with some amazing drawings and ideas. They managed to stay true to our 'sketches' whilst bringing a modern stylish look to the whole building, which also needed to fit in with our agricultural surroundings.
We decided on several internal changes and discussed our reasons and got good advice an how it could be done. The plans were re-drawn with no fuss and returned quickly.

I have been incredibly impressed by Woodfield Brady from my first meeting with Kevin Brady two years ago. Kevin took the time to understand my requirements and objectives and worked with me to produce a super, innovative design for a large extension to my grade 2 listed thatched cottage. He was successful in securing planning and listed building consent without any modifications to the plans and was at hand during the build whenever I or my builder needed any help or advice. I always felt nothing was too much trouble and his approachable manner made our meetings both pleasant and productive.

We have been in our new home for just over a year now and could not be happier with it and we look back on the whole experience of working with Woodfield Brady - right from the initial concept – with real positivity. In the conceptualisation and design process, Kevin and his colleagues brought great ideas and produced tender documents that were brilliantly detailed to enable a very smooth build process. Kevin was also extremely helpful and effective in his approach to working with the council to support our planning application. Once the build process was under way, the support in helping us

We approached Allan Woodfield to help us renovate, re-order and extend our Tudor house in 2015-16
Allan immediately understood that we wanted to improve the internal space in the building – bigger kitchen; more light, additional upstairs bedroom, new family room etc – while bringing all the rooms closer together and exposing more of the Tudor fabric of the building.
Despite being in a conservation area, and Grade II listed, Allan steered us effectively through pre-planning and conversation meetings which enabled us to secure planning permission first time! No small feat for an ambitious building

Kevin and the team at Woodfield Brady were exactly what we needed on our Barn Conversion project....thoughtful, challenging, creative, detailed and a good investment..
We already had a pretty good idea of the design elements we wanted to incorporate in the build but Kevin made sure he challenged each element and explored options to ensure it did deliver exactly what we needed. The team also came up with some creative solutions to some of the stickier solutions!
Each element was clearly explained and they liaised well with our Building contractor to ensure that some of the more complex elements
