Whitbread Restoration/Stonemasons is a truly family run business, with father and son working side by side along with our other highly skilled craftsmen in stone and brickwork. We have worked on many projects, from historic castles and churches, to small house repairs and bespoke carvings. We use many traditional methods involving mallet and chisel carving and lime mortar pointing/fixing, to modern fixing systems and specialist resins to allow for the more precise tolerances of today's modern new builds.

Services
Restored to its former glory by chiselling to gently remove the cement based coating to the decorative heads then replacing the eroded pillars with new matching sandstone columns. This gravestone was cleaned and relaid by our craftsmen to produce a stunning original finish. Carvers use their artistic abilities to carve foliage, figures, faces, animals and abstract designs one off bespoke art work.
The front faade of this building was taken down then rebuilt using the original stones with new locally sourced sandstone carved to make the new doorway and windows all laid in traditional lime mortar. These pillar caps were sculpted to match the original damaged caps by our banker masons from a solid m3 sandstone block using mainly mallet and chisel skills.
