We only work with Local Council approved contractors, undertake insurance work if required and are members of The Federation of Master Builders and Constructionline.

We hired Justin to replace a broken lintel over a bay window and tidy up the outside pointing of our flat.
We went away for a few days and, when we returned, the job was complete.
It looks (see pics) perfect and we couldn't be happier.
I thoroughly recommend Justin to anyone in Edinburgh requiring stone work.

The job: Remove section of stone lintel (1400x230x150mm) from kitchen fireplace and remove layers of paint to leave a smooth finish.
Justin and team arrived promptly, worked hard and tidied up after themselves. It was always going to be a messy job inside the house but they produced a great result and I will be happy to use them again. Thank you.

JD Smith Stonemasons rebuilt a 12m dividing stone wall in our garden. Justin and team were professional to deal with, courteous and hard working. The wall was rebuilt to a very high standard of workmanship and we were delighted with the completed wall. I would highly recommend!

We were recommended JD Smith through a neighbourhood WhatsApp group originally. Justin (the owner) arrived promptly at the exact time specified and maintained a courteous and professional service throughout. The quality of the work was excellent and we were kept well informed throughout the process. It's rare that a stonemason not only tidies properly but actually leaves the whole area cleaner than when he found it! We'd have no hesitation is using JD Smith again and would highly recommend their services.

Highly recommended, professional and quality from start to finish. Justin and Arran rebuilt a leaning 7m long, 2.1m high retaining stone boundary wall bordering the Waverley Tennis Club over a 2 week period this autumn. Both worked through challenging conditions to get the wall rebuilt in tight timescales. The new wall is superb - built in traditional style and will hopefully stand for a further 100+ years! Communication was brilliant from start to finish and nothing was too much hassle. Thanks folks - great job and much appreciated.
