Our softwood wooden gates are made from a premium Scandinavian timber, which is Kiln Dried to 14% water content. The high quality of our timber is why we use spirit based treatment. Contrary to popular belief, pressure treatment is not really suitable for kiln dried timber. If you think about it logically, forcing water back into a dried timber negates drying it in the first place.
Our wooden garage doors have proved very popular. With simple designs and a strong construction, these doors will serve you well for years to come. They can all be made to measure and we can supply the frame as well in both hardwood and softwood. Timber garage doors are a much more traditional look than steel and give the property a more elegant, ornate feel.
Our Cottage softwood internal doors are made to your size requirements by our highly experienced and skilled carpenters. This simple, Traditional design is very popular in old period houses as well as the more contemporary modern homes. We leave the doors untreated for you to finish in your required colour, we recommend a clear wax finish.
Combining a gate and an automation kit creates a "machine" and the person doing the combining must comply with the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations. This person is whoever you contract or employ to carry out the installation of the gates and automation or if they are adding automation to previously installed gates.

Very good quality well made wooden gate. The ordering process is very straightforward and delivery was on time and well organised. Laurel in sales was extremely helpful, polite and efficient to sort out a minor delivery query. A very nice company to do business with. I am a well pleased happy customer. I haven’t had time to fit the gate which is why there is no photo.

Excellent service across the board from initial enquiry through to installation. Our bespoke wooden gate was manufactured and delivered on time. The workmanship is particularly good, and the gate is finished to a high standard with high quality fittings, etc. We are extremely happy with the finished product. We ordered our gate with installation and our experience with the installer was top notch as well. He arrived in the morning, installed the gate professionally and tided up after himself. Will definitely recommend Gatewright to family and friends that are looking for a new gate.

Had a set of double hardwood gates, personal gate and side panels made for self install. Gates arrived on delivery date given. I found the Gatewrights team to be very helpful. The dimensioning was down to the mm, the gates were delivered on the day stated and extremely well protected for transport. They are very well made and extremely solid; posts are very robust, too, with a nice machined profile on each corner.Many compliments from our neighbours so very satisfied with the purchase.

Phoned Gatewrights to ask for some more information about their doors and if they had any pictures. The lady on the phone was the most unhelpful, belligerent person imaginable, to the point of being rude. Their customer service is obviously modelled on Basil Fawlty! We are ordering new doors for our house, but certainly will not be using this company because of the way it treats its potential customers.

A side gate installed in September 2016 is already sagged and jamming - now unable to bolt the gate. Its a shame the belligerent approach taken by Gatewrights, Sudbury - refusing to adjust for my elderly and frail parents, yet very happy to take the £621 and brag about quality credentials on their Facebook page etc. The quality of your product is not just about how pretty it looks when first installed, but if it actually still functions a few months later. Poor.
