Western Supply was established in 1965 by Acky Callaway & Den Dagley. The two tradesmen spotting a gap in the market, bought a field in the village, and decided to sell some of the building materials they used during their working week, at the weekends. This was mainly second-hand timber, or basically anything they believed would return a profit.
It proved to be a shrewd move as the popularity of their new business quickly grew; leaving them at a crossroads. With working 7 days a week on two businesses being unfeasible, they had to decide between staying as full-time tradesmen, or expanding their new reclamation venture. They chose the latter; and that was the start of Western Supply the Builders Merchants!
Over the years the company continued to grow and when Den decided to retire, Acky's son Mike - who had been working for the company for several years at this time - bought Den's share of the business. Mike and Acky worked happily in partnership for many years.

It’s a real shame I’m having to leave such a negative review but after being loyal to you since I was recommended to you from a good friend I will no longer part with any of my good money. It seems lately every time I have phoned or had to deal with an order I’m faced with disinterest, rude and unfriendly service. It seems as though if you don’t have an account the attitude changes and you are no longer as important or valued. My point was proven recently when trying to put aquote together amounting to over £2000, then had the exact treatment as mentioned above, in
