Needed a survey to find point and cause of rising damp. Via a phone call and appointment made, their surveyor arrived on the day and within time frame agreed. Given that other 'experts' in the field of damp simply shrugged their shoulders and failed to be of any help whatsoever, their surveyor soon found the point and probable cause to the problem. I live

I had a problem with damp in a small area which was caused by a roofing problem. The surveyor pointed out that the roof was causing the problem.
This I have had repaired. The work inside was carried out expertly and all mess cleared away.
I have used Acorn several years ago in my previous property and would recommend Acorn.

Our daughter’s ground floor flat had such a serious problem with damp that even her clothes were suffering from mould. We contacted Acorn hoping they would find the source of the damp and any work would not be too costly. David the owner of the company arrived on time and having surveyed the property he assured us that the source of the damp was not from the outside but from the inside of the house. Moisture in the air is caused by drying clothes on radiators or a clothes horse for example, leaving completed washing in the washing machine for a long time with the door open. He left a leaflet

He did a full survey of the property and was very professional in dealing with the problems.

I used Acorn Preservation Co in 2008 to deal with a damp problem that I had at a let property which I own. I asked Acorn to perform a survey and after the survey they did the necessary work and gave me a 30 year guarantee. The tenants continued to complain about damp but I thought it must be condensation until I asked another damp company to visit who did another survey in 2018. Their survey found damp in all the same places and I had them do the same work again. They also gave me a 30 year guarantee. I wrote to Acorn Preservation Co for their comments both by email and snail mail but I have not
