It seems like only yesterday that Andrew Sampson set up Alliance Garage Doors Ltd. In fact, it was way back in 1982 - almost forty years ago. Andrew was dissatisfied with the garage door businesses operating in the region at that time, particularly with their level of service. He felt that something ought to be done and that he was the one to do it.

Roller shutter doors are an effective way to protect any sort of building, from warehouses to shopfronts, but they prove particularly popular for domestic and commercial garage doors. It is not hard to see why. Consisting of numerous metal slats laid horizontally, they are extremely resistant to impact damage, while the tension-strung cables that operate the opening mechanism allow it to be raised and lowered with little effort.
Up-and-over garage doors are what most of us think of when we picture the 'traditional' garage door in this country. It is a single flat panel that slides up and out, before being guided along fixed runners to a horizontal plane in the garage's ceiling cavity. It's a classic design and one that remains popular across the South West.
Sectional roller doors form a combination of both roller shutter and up-and-over garage doors, incorporating many benefits of both. Like up-and-over doors, they comprise metal panels that give an attractive finish when closed. Like roller shutter doors, they are operated by means of a horizontal axle actioned by a spring-loaded weight.

Great, friendly and professional service from the moment Andrew came to give us an estimate.
The new door is excellent, and the price was very competitive. It was fitted very quickly, in just over a couple of hours, including the electrical connections and taking me through operation. I could not have asked for a better service, and I’m very pleased we decided to go to Alliance for the work. Very highly recommended. If I had another garage, I’d very happily use them again!

Our old up and over garage door collapsed one Sunday afternoon. Andrew came out straight away (in awful weather I hasten to add) to try and fix it. It was repaired but we decided to order a new electric shutter door which has just been installed this morning, three weeks ahead of schedule! A brilliant service and I would thoroughly recommend. Excellent friendly, professional & efficient service. Contacted Alliance Garage Doors to get a quote for new electric garage doors after being advised by another company a few days earlier that our doors were not able to be repaired & that they could supply a complete new system at just over £2000. When Alliance Garage Doors visited, they asked what had been done so far and then checked the doors to ensure there was no other work around. Within 10 minutes they had identified the issue & were able to get the garage doors working at a fraction of the cost a new system would have cost.

This company recommended by a neighbor, who had a Garage door installed around 8 years ago. At initial visit for estimate/survey Andrew arrived exactly on time. Various options were explained clearly and concisely. A verbal quotation given (Paper copy by mail after a couple of days) together with approximate time to installation. When door available for fitting Andrew phoned to agree mutually convenient time for installation. This went without hitch and took a little under 3 hours, including operational demonstration .
