Tapco HomeDry was established in 1971, simply as Tapco (Treatment and Preservation company) and has steadily grown into one of the most established and reputable damp proofing, basement conversion, water damage, woodworm, dry rot and property maintenance companies, in London and the Home Counties. I started the company in response to a growing need for professional preservation companies, as the property market rapidly grew.
Damp proofing is a protective process to prevent moisture transmitting into walls that are in contact with the ground. There are two main reasons why Damp Proofing becomes necessary, one is if your property has Rising Damp from the ground, the other is if you have Lateral Damp Penetration, from below the ground, or both.

My recent experience of Tapco was not the best. To mention first, the reception staff, Gemma in particular, was helpful and polite, and the main work was done to a good standard. However the person who refitted my electrics did it wrong, meaning I had to get an electrician out afterwards. There was no follow up questionnaire or any communication to ask about my experience and satisfaction of the work that had been done. It was a pretty big job and was booked to begin at 8am on 17/11/21 and to last 4 days, bringing it to the following Monday. However I got a phone call that morning to say the man

Excellent work on damp proofing the ground floor of a Victorian house. Four rooms in total to take off the old plaster to the brickwork, damp proof course and chemical injection and then rendering and skim.
Jimmy performed the majority of the work and was an excellent plasterer...extremely high quality and commented on the work by a number of tradesmen that came in after asking for the number of the person performing the work. Good banter too and he took the time to explain each process and advised on the best materials for other renovation works in the property.
Highly recommend...not cheap

Instructed work on our property some time ago and did not receive any certificate in relation to the “20 year guarantee” that they offer. It seems pointless that they advertise their work with this given the cost in relation to other suppliers. I have chased up the company 4 times waiting for the certificate and keep being told it sits with another team to action. I am yet to hear anything.

I appointed Tapco to carry out a survey and provide a report on moisture presence, mould growth etc on a property I was working on. They were given a clear instruction and confirmed that they could help with this and charged £150 for the survey/report.
The person carrying out the inspection came across as incompetent when testing the moisture levels, didn't bring the correct equipment to inspect for mould growth within the intermediate floor voids and also marked numerous walls throughout the property with his ladder.

I've recently purchased a 115 year old house, and the survey showed a slight issue with damp. I'd seen Tapco's vans around, and the reviews looked good so asked for a survey, the price quoted was good and offered a refund plus a discount if the remedial work was undertaken. The report helped us to get the vendor to reduce the purchase price by the full amount.
The two guys sent to carry out the work were brilliant - really keen to do top quality work and wanted me to understand why the issue has occurred and what they were doing about it. Worked very professionally and full clean up afterwards

We used Tapco for both a survey on a property y we were intending to purchase and then later to complete works for us when the purchase was completed. We were really pleased with the end result. The people at Tapco couldn't have been more helpful and took numerous phone calls etc from us and came to meet us a few times in order to give advice on the works to be completed.

Professional, friendly, helpful service from beginning to end. Really helpful office staff who arranged a quick meeting with the building manager pre-build. The building manager reassured me and advised us how to prepare our home ready for the build. He was punctual, polite and friendly and took every effort to protect our home and belongings from building dust. The work was finished to a high standard and earlier than expected. Thank you Tapco. Tapco have just completed extensive damp proofing at my cottage. They made a very disruptive job, much less stressful and are surely the best in the business. Their technicians were thorough, quick and always kept the rooms tidy. I was constantly kept updated by the friendly office staff and everyone was professional from start to finish. The end result is excellent and I highly recommend them to anyone who has a problem with damp.

We have had many issues with our newly purchased Edwardian home. Tapco came to do a survey and did a very thorough job. I did expect it to be a 20-minute survey, but no, they went that extra mile. We now have had our worked completed, which was done around a month ago and can only say, from start to finish our experience has been a very positive one. If my friend or family ever need such services, I will be happy to recommend them to Tapco.
