In 1996 they were joined by their son Robert and slowly with the help of Paul Shaw as well built up a very knowledgeable team. We are a family run business with Kevin starting out in 1972 with British Gas. In 1985, Kevin set up Kevin O'Brien Gas Services with his wife Kate, who ran the showroom. In 2018, Kevin stepped down for his well earned retirement and handed the business over to his son Robert and his wife Kate to continue running the family business.
If sludge and debris is not removed from heating systems, it can accumulate in radiators, pipework and heat exchangers, causing severe blockages. This diminishes the transfer of heat and can result in pipe, radiator valve and heating controls being damaged. In some cases this will eventually lead to the premature failure of the boiler.
An unvented hot water cylinder is fed directly from the cold mains water feed which eliminates the need for a cold water tank in the loft. Because it relies on mains pressure rather than gravity, it can be situated almost anywhere and means the performance is great. It is vitally important that an unvented cylinder is serviced on an annual basis to ensure that it is safe and that the expansion vessel and relief valves are functioning correctly.

Thursday night noticed boiler not working, called Kevin O'Brien's first thing Friday and spoke to a very nice lady who assured me someone would come out that day to look at it. Within 2 hours Rob O'Brien arrived got the boiler working wirhin 10 minutes and was gone, brilliant. I have used Kevin O'Brien's firm for over 15 years and have always found them excellent.

Needed an annual service on our gas combi boiler and was impressed with this company from the outset. Appointment was arranged over the telephone with a very friendly lady who advised me of the competitive price upfront and the date / time was negotiated with flexibility to suit our needs. The engineer, Shane, turned up on time and was extremely friendly, competent, efficient, clean and respectful of our home - all qualities that can be very hard to find in tradesmen these days! As a result, although this is the first time we have used their services, having only moved into the area fairly recently

Excellent, trustworthy service. They installed a new boiler in Spring 2018; it works a treat and has saved us a lot in bills! The installation was done efficiently, on time and with minimum of disruption and all mess cleared up afterwards. The thermostat stopped working a year and a half later and they replaced it quickly for free, despite it being out of guarantee.

I have used both Kevin and Rob O'Brien on two separate properties within the Rutland area. Each time they've worked through until the end of an issue that has occurred and found a good solution to fix it. I was recently in the process of purchasing a new boiler for my house (through a different plumber) and thought I'd request a second opinion through Kevin & Rob, Kevin uncovered the problem immediately saving us ÂŁ2k from buying a new boiler which was not required in the end. Honest and to the point plumbers in my experience.

Sorry for the late review. I can't speak highly enough of Kevin and the team. They did an excellent job, replacing our boiler and heating system. When we've phoned for advice and support on the combi boiler system (which was new to us), they have gone over and above, going out of their way to explain everything. Nothing is ever too much trouble. They are, without doubt, the best trades people we have worked with. Professional, efficient, hard-working and friendly. I highly recommend Kevin, Rob and team.

The only reason I have given 1 star is because I couldnât score 0.
I have waited 5 weeks for them to turn up with the wrong part, I had the receptionist say âoh that cardâ when I stated how I need the heating working as I have 2 children. I then have the owner of the company shout at me in my own kitchen (whilst my âoh that cardâ 2 year old is fast asleep upstairs) slam his tool kit shut, mutter âI donât need thisâ under his breath and then tell me to get someone else to do the job.
I wouldnât recommend this company as they need some lessons on general respect for other humans
