From a beloved family piece or a little something you found at an auction or second-hand shop, not always is a piece of furniture looking or working at its best. Just because it may not look much doesn't mean that you have to take it to the skip. Sometimes no matter how many shops you visit, how many hours in front of the computer, you can't always find the right piece of furniture you want: it's too big, too small, you love the shape but you want it in oak and it only comes in pine.
Having a piece made to your requirements can be easier than you may think and there is no need to leave your home. With a home visit I go through with you to find out exactly what you would like, the space you have and how the new piece would help complement the rest of the room. I am a second generation cabinet maker, inheriting the trade from my father who was a carpenter joiner.

I contacted Nic after a recommendation from a well-reviewed carpenter in Guildford.
My dining room chair had a broken spindle. Rather than throwing the chair out and buying a replacement, I wanted to have it repaired instead. I could have easily saved money by buying a cheap, second-hand one, but I prefer to save and repair rather than replace where possible.
And I'm so glad I did. Nic is both friendly and knowledgeable. He immediately knew the type of wood to use and tried to match it by grain and colour. He perfectly turned two new spindles to match the old and then ever so slightly aged them to give a more cohesive appearance.
I'm extremely happy with Nic's work and I think it was well-worth every penny.

I had been searching for a very long time looking for someone who could restore a unique 5 foot tall, wooden sculpture of a dragon which was terribly vandalised. Not only did Nic do an unbelievable job bringing the sculpture back to life he also built an excellent case to keep it safe in. I would recommend him unreservedly and thank him for the amazing job he has done for me. A perfectionist who is a very talented restorer.

Nic has completed several pieces of joinery for us over the past few years. The work has been completed to an exceptionally high standard and we have been 100% satisfied with it.
