Whiteley's
As well as standard Diamond & Rectangular leaded, we offer a vast array of standard leaded designs for toplights, windows, doors & side panels, many of which incorporate bevelled glass to create a stunning feature design to your home. Also available are Georgian bars incorporated into the units to reproduce the look of old style Georgian windows.

We also manufacture the 'Duplex' system; these are internal spacer bars to allow surface mounted beading to be applied to the finished unit during installation to achieve a look of individual units. Whiteley's Ltd specialise in the manufacture of Double Glazed Sealed Units. We supply a vast range of options for the units ranging from energy efficient units to decorative leaded & coloured units.

See our Products section for more details. Whiteley's can offer an express manufacture service for emergency units, any non-toughened unit required urgently can generally be manufactured for same day collection as long as the order is received before 12 noon.
Services
Whiteley's was established in 1981 by husband & wife team Peter & Susan Whiteley manufacturing Stained Glass & Leaded Lights. As Double Glazing became more popular the company began to expand into the manufacture of doubled glazed units, supplying customers throughout West & North Yorkshire.
We supply an extensive range of double glazed units that include: Standard Units, Obscure Texture, Leaded, Coloured, Bevels, Georgian, Duplex & energy efficient units incorporating Pilkington 'K' Glass. We also supply double glazed units incorporating Pilkington Activ self-cleaning glass (see spec sheet).
We offer a customised glass service for customers who want to design their own leaded units, thus creating a totally unique & personal feature. Many customers don't realise that this is possible but due to our versatility we are more that happy to reproduce a customer drawing using lead & colour film to create the design.
An individual spacer bar is cut to the size of unit, allowing a 23mm overall reduction for the correct sealant depth. If the unit requires Georgian bars it is done at this stage. The hollow spacer bar is then filled with desiccant to absorb any moisture from the air inside the unit. The glass is then put through our washing machine, which washes the glass with hot water then dries the glass using hot air blowers.
If your double glazed units have failed & misted up OR you want to replace the existing glass using energy efficient glass such as Pilkington 'K' Glass, you DO NOT need new window frames. Many double-glazing installers will have you believe you need completely new frames & glass but you don't. Replacing a misted up or broken unit is quite a straightforward procedure for any semi-competent DIY'er.

Mark is really helpful with some great advice even though I only bought one pane of glass & price was good too.
