We knew this company had an excellent reputation so we were delighted when David said they could transform a breeze block retaining wall on our front drive with local ironstone and new footings. We absolutely love the finished look, and Glen and Andy were outstanding as a team - so helpful and professional from start to finish - plus a lot of fun. They clearly enjoy and take a lot of pride in their work, as do the whole Smart Build team. We highly recommend them.

We would recommend David and team without hesitation. The building work has been carried out with great care and professionalism.
Whilst we had a fair idea of what we wanted from the build, the team were great at making suggestions which were respectful to the character and heritage of the original building.
Particular thanks must go to our two core builders who were knowledgeable, highly skilled and good humoured.
The build involved some internal reworking as well as a stone and slate extension. The match between the original and new elements is truly excellent, with detailing that is sympathetic

We recently used Smart Build for our extension and renovation project and would recommend them to anyone. The whole team are fantastic, incredible hard working and genuinely nice people. The project was fairly large and disruptive for our neighbours but they still commented on the building team for being approachable and accommodating.
The planning phase took almost a year to complete and David was on hand offering advice and guidance even before being awarded the work. He is great to deal with, very fair and honest with his approach.

More than happy to recommend Smart Build (and David himself). A terrifying prospect of knocking through our kitchen and remodelling into a kitchen diner was made as easy as it could be by David and his team. David kept in touch throughout the project and was always available to visit the site at times that worked for me. When the inevitable unexpected things arose (as they surely will with projects like this) he was on hand to sort things out, could tap into a team skillset for whatever arose (from TV Aerials to Wood Burner fitting!), and ultimately keep things moving. Smart Build Ltd was one of a number of Companies recommended to us by our Architect - our decision to employ them was based on our initial meeting with David. He listened to we wanted to achieve, delved in to the detail and ensured he fully understood what our requirements were before submitting his tender.
During the build he and his team came up with a couple of really helpful suggestions/alterations to the plans which really enhance the end result.

Highly recommend David and Smart Build. Attention to detail is very high and the standard of work is also extremely high. All of the trades that David employs are excellent at what they do and provided very helpful suggestions or ideas to help the work go smoothly and improve the project. Also, mess was kept to a minimum with considerate solutions to dust etc and all the trades were very conscientious. We're very happy with the our new kitchen and dining room. Good reliable trade people are hard to find - I feel lucky we found Smart Build.
