Phil started in the industry in 1987 and worked for a total of 16 years before starting Building Materials Nationwide Ltd in 2003. He worked in Distribution for two of the biggest PLC companies; specialising in Ceilings, Drywall, Insulation and Partitioning. Whilst working in the trade, he found there was a gap in the market for smaller businesses and to offer more personal advice.
After seeing the opportunity in the market, he couldn't ignore it. At the age of 32, Phil decided to start his own business. With a mortgage, a wife, two kids, 15k credit card debt and nothing in the bank, it was definitely a risk. Phil managed to persuade one supplier to grant him some credit and then put everything else he needed on a credit card.
It was just him, his Nokia 6610 and a dream that he could make a better life for himself and his family. Within 3 months, he was moving out of his house and into a small office. He originally set himself a target of 500k within the first year but not only did he achieve this, he doubled it!

Incredible company and customer service!
Honestly best price for our fencing needs! Massimo handled our order and it was due to be delivered on the Tuesday after ordering on the Wednesday late night, we needed it as soon as possible due to an incident that had happened and they sorted our next day delivery so fast! And any questions or problems super fast replies so quickly! The deliver driver was so lovely who helped my partner unload nice and fast and even took the job on his day off! Everything we ordered was fantastic quality!! Honestly can't reccomend this company enough! Incredible service, we have so many landscaping jobs coming up and we will 100% be using again! Thankyou so much!

Your company has been straight forward and direct with me so far. Cost and delivery date is essential to all your customers! This is my second purchase from you and I am happy with the service! Great service - great price
I've ordered a number of times from these guys for a big treehouse project. They are easy to get hold of on the phone and have been really helpful and gone above and beyond in their service.
I even missorderd and they came and replaced the fence posts with another set of the right size - they didn't even charge me!

Great company to deal with. Their purchasing power means you can get supplies cheaper than buying direct. They do all the work finding what you need. The phones are answered quickly. In particular Steve was very helpful especially when I changed my order. My timber was delivered promptly and nothing was missing.

All orders have been with a chap called Thomas Garner, service has been top quality, reliable, informative and trustworthy.
Thomas has even gone above and beyond to help get deliveries sent on time when I am calling up last minute on a Thursday afternoon!

Very bad experience with this company. Placing order, paying money, no delivery on promised date, no calls, no emails. On the phone they say its scheduled for 2 days later??? My business getting damaged because of such horrible customer experience. Never ever again will buy from them or recommend them to anyone. Stay away if you are planing out with them!!!

Just received my order this week, I was very happy with the service, as I couldn’t get 3 items from anywhere else or at a reasonable price the guy I spoke to on my first phone call (Kaine) promised me he would do his best to get the materials Monday morning then sent me a quote by the afternoon I recieved a call just as the email come Through just too make sure I see the email. I then confirmed the order through the link and materials arrived Thursday ready for my builders at the weekend!
