Designs in Steel was established in 2002 by Kevin Brierley, having a background in quality control and test fabrication, testing the strength of welding in automobiles for a major car company, and for other household names. Kevin decided he could provide his expertise and eye for quality by providing a high quality range of products directly to the public.

Based in Newcastle upon Tyne we have the capability to create almost anything you need in steel. From steel railings and gates to handrails and decorative items, every product is carefully designed and built with quality and value in mind.
Designs In Steel offer an extensive range of beautifully handcrafted Wrought Iron Gates all constructed from our factory and can be delivered Nationwide. We offer a specialist service making and installing wrought projects range from ornamental cast railings to ecclesiastical railings as well as decorative house and garden panels and simple practical barriers.
An elegant, secure and private solution - our timber-filled gates combine deep wrought iron steel work combined with a hardwood timber infill. We can supply both gates and railings with timber infill to deliver a fully coordinated, stunning look which will last a lifetime. Just had an internal hand rail and balustrade with alternate twisted bar with basket feature, done in gloss white powder coat. Very informative, friendly and professional service from start to finish. Very happy with end result. Excellent value. Would highly recommend. many thanks Kevin

I have just had a Juliette Balcony replaced by team at Designs in Steel.
All aspects of the task from manufacture to surface finish treatments and disposal of the original item carried out, and kept up to date with progress from quote to fitting.
The finished product looks brilliant and I could not be happier with the work they've done. Definitely recommend their products and quality. Cheers lads!
