Founded in Chichester, West Sussex, we started life as a specialist joinery company in 1980. Within months our reputation for providing high quality bespoke furnishings had spread, and as demand increased, so did our team. We now employ a group of fully qualified tradesmen, all experts in their field, to provide the finest quality service to homeowners and businesses throughout from our local workshop.
Staircases are easily one of the most challenging and complex joinery tasks in any building, and are the centrepiece of many homes. Fortunately, JLA Joinery have over 30 years of experience in the field, and our skilled craftsmen have worked on a wide range of bespoke staircase projects, from making lofts more accessible in tight spaces, to bringing a touch of elegance into your home with a wooden, glass or metal staircase.

They are a lovely family run business offering an incredibly skilled quality of work at a fair price. JLA deigned and fitted a bespoke oak staircase with glass panels spread over three floors.

We were delighted with JLA Joinery's work for us, from the initial consultation right through to the finished staircase. In our case JLA renovated the top section and constructed the bottom section from scratch, then used a combination of Ash veneer and solid Ash to unify, with glass panels. We then worked together to find a light natural lacquer to create the lightest possible feel. We were utterly delighted with the finished result which has transformed our 1970s house. (We are still working on the surrounding area ourselves as the staircase is part of a bigger house renovation). Jim and James

Jim Allsop and his son James, together with their lovely team members, designed, built and installed a magnificent oak & glass 3 level staircase for our new build Hampshire Farmhouse. The staircase is the centrepiece of the house and is simply stunning.
