Ben Miller has a City & Guilds in Aboriculture, and has been a tree surgeon for 20 years. He learned his trade working for various local companies in the Ipswich area, and around 15 years ago decided to set up in business on his own. In the early days we often worked alongside other tree surgery companies, but as we established a reputation and began to employ more qualified operatives, Acorn Trees began to take shape.
We believe the best way to grow a successful business is to build up a reputation through the quality of the service or product on offer. Here at Acorn Trees we like to think we've done that. Some of the work we undertake is related to events that have occurred over time, including dead or decaying trees, overcrowding or simply a loss of natural light. Other issues can arise suddenly, such as damage following high winds or storms. Issues with trees and hedges come in all shapes and sizes, from simple trimming for cosmetic reasons to more serious and challenging problems.
The height of a tree sometimes needs to be reduced by pruning the upper part of the crown (see crown reduction), and in much the same way, the space between the lower branches and ground level sometimes needs to be increased. Crown lifting involves the skilled technique of removing limbs and branches from the lower part of the tree, with the objective of raising the overall height of the crown to a specified distance from the ground.

Ben and his team are excellent at their jobs, cannot recommend them highly enough. Nothing is too much trouble, highly professional and they always clear away and tidy up after themselves. Have been using them for tree and shrub trimming for over three years and price wise they cannot be matched. Great value for money.

Ben’s team, Jason and Giles, arrived on time and set to work on several trees, reducing and tidying. First class service, assessing each tree from start to finish and checking I was happy with end result. Removed all cuttings and waste and left the garden tidy. Highly recommended and will definitely use again.
