At STONEDRY we don't sub-contract, unlike some other basement companies, so you will always have a single point of contact throughout the project. We are always here to talk through your conversion and we can arrange all the design, building notices (if required) and structural engineer reports along with a full range of building works (see additional services for details) which is all carried out by our team of professionals.
Converting your basement into a utility room makes great sense. It can be the perfect place to house a washing machine, tumble dryer, boiler with cupboards to keep the washing, ironing and cleaning essentials. Located in the basement you could even store a secondary fridge or freezer and sink enabling an uncluttered kitchen.

Every other contractor arranged through Nigel - plumbers, electricians etc - were top quality and professional. Following Nigel’s engagement in early July our cellar was converted into a most amazing space that is now inconstant use.
Nigel worked efficiently and to an agreed programme which was completed on time and to the agreed budget.

After receiving a few quotes, Nigel seemed by far the most competent and knowledgeable about our queries and was at a reasonable price point especially considering the scale of the job. All this proved true once he started the job. Great project managing to ensure all the other trades required for the conversion complete their jobs and only works with other high standard workmen. Nigel knows what he's doing. The whole job was capably done and I now have a whole new useable room in my house. As I was on a tight budget, Nigel did as much as he could to help me keep costs down. He even sourced the insulation and plasterboard for me after the job was finished, as I put these in myself. Professional, easy to work with, communicative, and helpful. And the job was done RIGHT.

We had issues with our damp previously converted basement for years. We finally decided to strip everything back and start again from scratch. Nigel @ Stonedry was very helpful and informative from day one, always answering phonecalls/texts and talking things through on site. The workmanship was of the highest quality. We now have a warm, dry room and no longer need to worry when we experience bad weather.

It's now two years since Nigel and his team converted our damp cellar into a lovely fresh, dry and clean utility room. I recall the experience of having Nigel and his team being an exceptionally good one. Nigel is very professional, his work is of a high standard and the whole process went ahead in a very logical and straightforward manner.
I now have my washing machine in my basement which has facilitated the space to have a dishwasher in my kitchen without having to remove precious cupboard space.

Nigel is a top professional, a tremendous communicator and brings clarity to your decision making process. He spends quality time to really understand how his clients are going to use the new space and provides an honest view of how to invest your money wisely. We have had our cellar conversion for just under a year now and it is used daily and with no snagging or issues to report. His team and supporting tradesman are top notch. There's only one worth dealing with he said. Stone Dry have been doing it for years and
I would not recommend anyone else.
True indeed. They did the job in a thoroughly professional manner from start to finish. Even my technical questions were answered without hesitation. It was an expensive quote, but after watching them dig 45 tonnes of sticky clay out and carry them 50 yards up the road to the skip in buckets, I realized why.
After massive rain storms, the celler is still dry as dust. An expert company
