Exel Construction specialise in new build projects using a variety of off-site manufactured systems using both Light Gauge Steel (LGS) and Timber. Recent projects include houses, flats (private and social rented), student accommodation, office fit-out and mixed use developments.
Our current and recent clients are A2Dominion Housing Group, Style & Space, Soaro Developments and a number of private developers. The normal size of projects we carry out range between 2m and 10m, often on a Design & Build basis.

Services
Exel was formed in 1993 by its present owner and Managing Director, David Thoroughgood. Since its inception the company has changed with the times but has maintained its philosophies. It is now embarking on an exciting future with an energetic young team to add to its established experience. Our Head Office is based in Raynes Park, south-west London, close to excellent road and rail links to our operating area in the South of England.
We carried out our first turnkey project with EBS elk in the spring of 2009 for Harepath LLP. Exel are one of the founder members and shareholders of EBS elk Ltd and the use of this high quality off-site manufactured system shapes our current business model. EBS elk buildings can be bespoke to most buildings and we have used this system on multi-storey flats, high quality detached houses, schools and student accommodation.
Our first involvement with student accommodation was for the Royal Holloway University of London at their campus in Egham, Surrey in 2005. We were asked to refurbish four three-storey blocks containing 252 student rooms and 42 kitchens in the summer recess. Since then we have carried out further projects at Chapel street, Osney lane, Thames street, Oxford to provide 190 student rooms and associated facilities for A2 Dominion Group.
In the past we have looked at a number of development sites and gained an enormous amount of experience during this time, particularly from running our own developments from start to finish. Dealing with site purchases, funders, solicitors, local councils, architects, structural engineers, NHBC, Zurich, Statutory Authorities and estate agents has given us a good understanding of our Developer Client's needs.
