There are a lot of advantages to Granite worktops which include how strong, solid and reliable they are. They can come in nearly any color and pattern and when they're sealed they are essentially impervious to damage. Granite comes in medium to large slabs so for most home kitchens 1 or 2 slabs will be quite sufficient.
Granite is a coarse-grained igneous natural stone that is formed out of magma with a high content of silica over millions of years and is mostly made up of quartz, alkali, feldspar and plagioclase. Granite is one of the hardest and most durable of the natural stone selection. It is almost impossible to scratch and is heat resistant.
Quartz, also commonly known as the 'engineered stone', is a durable, hard wearing worktop that has excellent hygienic properties. Since high quality quartz worktops are non-porous it's resistance to stains is much higher than the natural stone like Granite and Marble. Harmful germs, stains or dirt won't get left behind after you clean the surface either due to it's non-porous personality.
Quartz is a man made engineered stone and is made by mining the quartz minerals and then they are ground into an aggregate that is later fused with resin that binds the rock under intense pressure and 573 degree celsius of heat to form the beautiful Quartz worktops you see today. During the process they add colour pigments to the worktop to give it that unique and beautiful look.

Great service from Craig, Alex and the team at Koloa. Granite work surfaces fitted as arranged but unfortunately a couple of marks visible after fitting. Craig and Alex returned twice but were unsuccessful in removing the marks. They subsequently sought advice from their supplier, International Stone, who were most unhelpful. Koloa agreed to remove the marked granite and replace with new at no cost to us. This was done efficiently, with minimal damage to paintwork.
We are delighted with outcome and would highly recommend.

Highly recommend using Koolia. Alex was very prompt with my request for a quote and they were cheaper than everywhere else. They sent someone round to template when we was ready and quickly turned around the order and fitted within 2 weeks as promised. The fitters arrived on time, were so friendly and polite did an amazing job couldn’t have asked for a better service So pleased with our new quartz worktops. Thank you Koolia

I selected Koolia after doing my research online & by word of mouth. They are very skilled stonemasons. I found the whole process of visiting the showroom, picking my slab from stock & the templating & fitting of the worktops to be very easy. We had fitted with our white mirror quartz worktops, up stands, splash back, window cills, breakfast bar all with the Shark nose edge finish, inset drainer (a must have) & drainer grooves. The fitting team is very professional, polite, helpful & friendly. A refreshing experience. I am very happy with the finish & would highly recommend Koolia for your worktops
