Earth Mother Gardening
Roses, fruit trees, vines, climbers such as Clematis all require specific cuts to encourage optimum growth. I have my Grandma and early childhood in particular to thank for my love of gardening and finding nature magical. We would spend hours in the garden at my grandparents house in Putnoe; playing with stones on the patio, collecting leaves from the herb garden or sweeping up bird seed that my Grandad had shaken all over the place.

My sister and I were given little errands at our request to help with watering, collecting leaves or rearranging the pebbles. We are absolutely blown away with the amount of work that was completed in just 1 day! Working full time leaves me no time to do my garden. It literally became a dumping ground.

I have now been left with a blank canvas to work with and I seriously couldn't thank her more! Thank you so much Joanna, the front garden border looks fab, had comments from the neighbours how hard you worked as well! Will try and keep it to a manageable level now.
Services
Hi I'm Joanna Williams your local Female Gardener living and working in the lush green riverside town of Bedford, Bedfordshire. I have my Grandma and early childhood in particular to thank for my love of gardening and finding nature magical.
Whether you have a traditional box hedge or shrubs which create a screen for privacy I either use mechanical petrol hedge trimmers, telescopic electric hedge trimmers (for hedges up to 8ft) or shears if a closer cut is needed. This is one of the staple services, I bring my strimmer, mower and edging shears as well as the edging tool to neaten the borders if necessary.
Here I tamed the bushes at the front of this property so that the window and gas box could be opened with ease. The back lawn was rather weedy and getting tall so this is the before and after of my first visit. The gravel area was my area of focus as over the years the weed control had perished leaving far too many weeds to seed and take root.
Autumn is harvest time and bulbs for spring are planted out, summer bedding replaced and pruning back perennials. Winter is for pruning of trees, roses, climbers such as wisteria and grape vines, as well as planting of shrubs and trees. Spring is ideal for feeding and scarifying lawns and of course preparing for the summer.
