The ground preparation is identical regardless of whether you decide to have a seeded lawn or a turfed lawn. Whilst seeding a lawn is the cheaper option it can also produce the better result because in preparing the soil we will have removed all the weeds. The downside of a seeded lawn is the time it takes for the lawn to establish and be ready for use.

Turfed lawns are more expensive because of the cost involved in cultivating and harvesting the turves. A turfed lawn is almost instant, well watered it can secure itself and be established within a couple of weeks.
Bog gardens need not be dreary, some of the plants appropriate to a bog garden can give year round colour and can look amazing once established. If you have a naturally cold and damp area in your garden and you're not quite sure what to do with it, a bog garden is the perfect solution. Even if you don't have a naturally damp area you can still add a water feature, perhaps with some marginal planting.
The choice of soft landscaping is varied and diverse, the cottage garden being just one style which can be deployed into an area of a large garden or a small town or cottage garden. The cottage garden is traditionally "British" and tends to be less formal in it's design housing a variety of typically English forna and flora.
We prefer the phrase Low Maintenance Garden; even if there are no plants the weeds will find their way through decking, sleepers, gravel, shingle and paving requiring a certain amount of attention from time to time. Low maintenance plants can look just as good as those that require weekly attention.
