I have been making and fitting stained glass for windows and doors in South London since 2005, and recreationally since around 2000. Based in South London until mid-2017, we relocated to Somerset, and continue to work in South and South West London on certain projects. Our methods are very tradtional, although we use dedicated stained glass design software, which produces accurate, coloured visuals for the client and a working drawing from the same file. This work is generally for regular glazing (maybe where you want an alternative to conventional clear obscured glass), or for hanging or standing in front of existing windows, including double glazed units.
All of the work shown in these galleries is our own production - they are bespoke new panels to clients' commissions, or existing panels that have been restored, usually by taking apart and rebuilding with new lead after the glass has been washed and new pieces cut to replace cracked or missing ones.
You may be thinking about your stained glass window project as simply something new to keep the weather out, or perhaps as a bespoke art work, with particular relevance to you. If you are thinking about a stained glass project, do get in touch, we will be happy to try and help. We start by thinking about the design, and for that we need the approximate size and shape of the spaces in which the stained glass is to be fitted.
Stained glass - has the decorative details - faces, flowers, scrolls, lettering etc fused onto the glass pieces making up the design after having been applied by brush. A leaded light has no painted details - its made up of pieces of uncoloured or coloured glass - where the colour is integral to the glass.

I tried ordering a small splashback from this company in November 2018 ( when I first started contacting them). I found the company disinterested in the order and have not managed to either take the order or make any attempts to fulfil it. I have logged over 12 calls to this company ( with dates and fimes logged, incase the company wish to dispute the review as is anticipated). No idea why I kept trying but it was to ensure I didn't write an unjustified review. The receptionist gave a multitude of excuses from the drivers ill, orders are backed up, vans have broken down, we misplaced your contact

Had a problem with my first delivery. Alan telephoned me personally to discuss a replacement, he even let me change the colour and was very patient waiting for me to make my mind up. The replacement glass was sent without fuss, looks great, very pleased with customer service, Alan was very helpful throughout.

Appaling customer service! Came across like they don't care about my order. I had to keep chasing them to find out when my mirror would be delivered. Didn't show up when they said they would on more than 2 occasions. Not once did anyone ring me to inform me. And I was later given excuses such as ' I didn't save your number' and 'I forgot' which you would expect from a schooboy, not professional at all
And I still don't have my order. Save yourself headache and go elsewhere!!

Excellent product at a good price. Samples were sent whenever requested and sensible advice freely given, nothing was too much trouble. The glass was properly packed and arrived on time, undamaged. It looks lovely. Next tim e I need some glass, this will be my first port of call. Highly recommended.

I would just like to say we are absolutely delighted on so many levels with the service that The Coloured Glass have provided to us and the end product is brilliant.
Telephone conversations prior to order were very helpful in assisting us take the ‘brave step’ to ordering a product such as this on line. The samples sent were free of charge which was another huge plus, many of the companies competitors ask what we perceived to be an overinflated price for a sample of a product that would then in most circumstances lead to a purchase , again with these prices being astronomically high .

Would have give them no stars but you have to give them 1 star just to review them. Dealt with a guy called Alan said he would call round Friday for a quote a no show, gave him a call said he was ill would be round Tuesday a no show. Rang him again no answer rang his head office they couldn't contact him said they would get him to ring us guess what he didn't, in my view don't waste your time go elsewhere
