This beautiful Edwardian house in a conservation area was in need of restoration. A new light contemporary single storey extension was added to the rear with a subtle twist in its plan to allow it to look down the garden and to visually separate it from the existing building. This 1930s home was completely refurbished to make it a low-energy use house, utilising high insulation levels and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR).

A lot of the projects that we design look exceedingly effortless and beautiful like this extension in Greenwich. Initially the house had a small existing galley kitchen and a slim difficult to use yard. With this project, as with most of our projects, we produced a number of interactive three dimensional sketches allowing the clients to "walk around" their potential new home and choose an option that will be very happy with.
