Gatwick Airport, The Ministry of Works, Post Offices, shops and offices along the South Coast, formed the basis of the practice from its 1946 beginnings. Don Read began as a sole principal, and was joined in 1958 by Don Loveless following his time working in the Architects Department at Bournemouth Borough Council, and for one of the best known and most respected local Architects of the time, Magnus Austin, known for the Art Deco Poole Municipal Building and many other excellent local buildings.
Don Loveless worked with Flight Refuelling (later bought by Cobham), FJB Hotels / Arnewood Estates, Keith Spicer, Hendy Ford and many other key local businesses and was the architect responsible for the infrastructure of Ferndown Industrial Estate and many of its early buildings.His keen commercial awareness was key to the many successful projects.

ACE Office Supplies - new headquarters - relocation of the business in Bournemouth as part of the enabling works for the 40 acre Castle Point Shopping Centre.
The National Trust - Brownsea Island - We were commissioned to prepare a feasibility study to improve the visitor experience and footfall to the island. We carried out major roof works and improvements to the Listed Buildings, converted the Boat store to a shop, formed the Courtyard to link the harbour seascape to the front with the conservation lagoon to the rear.
Moordown Medical Centre - A new build medical centre praised for its layout, with a mix of consulting and specialist peripheral medical services rooms. Interesting for its construction over a huge rainwater attenuation tank. James Fisher Medical Centre - Extension for Practice Nurse and patient care, reorganisation for the main entrance and reception areas.
