Compass Roofing Ltd specialise in all types of Natural slating ie; Scotch, Ballachulish, Welsh, West Moreland, Green Peggies, Burlington, Port Madoc, Norwegian Rogues, Spanish, Chinese and any other naturally quarried roofing slate. We also supply and fit concrete and clay roof tiles from different manufacturers.
Compass Roofing Ltd carry out a wide variety of guttering works from annual maintenance/guttering cleaning to complete stripping and renewing of gutterings. Our workforce are also able to work with a wide variety products from cast iron half round gutterings, cast iron OG gutterings, both of these products also can be made using aluminium.
Compass Roofing Ltd have been fitting Velux roof windows for many years and our time served Joiners can fit these to existing roofs or new roofs. Our time served Slaters can weather them externally by fitting the appropriate flashings dependent on the roof covering. We can also carry out any internal works required ie; plastering and painting.

Call for an emergency call-out when our roof leaked and flooded the house in recent heavy rain - on Sunday afternoon. They picked up the phone, identified the problem on the call quickly, guys were over in 30 min after the call and repaired the clogged gutter and sorted the problem straight away. Very happy with the fast professional and friendly service, will use again and strongly recommend. 5 stars!

Called late one afternoon as part of our shop roof had come off in the storm, Compass Roofing came out in about 45 minutes to secure the roof and make it watertight overnight. Very impressed with the punctuality, communication and work completed. Would definitely work with Compass again.

Excellent work - From original meeting and estimate to supplying a new flat roof. The tradesmen were on time with no problems. Their quote was 25% less than the other roofing companies we contacted. Its difficult choosing reliable tradesmen in Edinburgh but I would recommend Compass with no hesitation whatsoever.

I'd have no problem in suggesting Compass Roofing for any roofing jobs. They were on time and reliable and the work was finished within the given time and at the cost we agreed. I always post under a pseudonym for privacy reasons but this is a genuine review for work done on our flat roof in Dudley Avenue, Edinburgh which was completed on Monday. We had a single ply membrane and insulation installed to replace our cold felt roof as well as a new cupola and skylight, some chimney pointing and guttering work done.

Although the manager seemed OK when quoting for the job, the workmen did a very shoddy job (two valley gutter replacements and rain gutter repairs). Had to get them back out not once but twice to fix really basic problems such as bent metalwork, sealant applied on top of moss and debris in the gutter and slipped slates caused by them. Workmen could barely communicate and didn't follow even the simplest instructions.
Only found out about the poor job they did because I went up the scaffolding to have a look. I guess they thought I wouldn't bother checking - which most people probably

Just had repairs to our slate, new gutters and new zinc round all windows and am really happy with the work.
The roof and guttering was in a pretty bad state when they came to see it, they talked us through the options and gave us a very reasonable quote, happy to answer any questions we had before starting the job. There were a number of people involved (replacing the gutters, painting the gutters, replacing the lead, replacing the slates, erecting the scaffolding etc) and every person turned up on time and was professional, friendly and polite. I went up on the scaffolding to check their work

I would NOT recommend this company. The communication of the workman was very poor. The workman appeared rushed and didn't take care whilst on my roof. They left debris in the gutters and did not complete the job according to the quotation. I had to ring and get them back to complete the job properly. They then tried to tell me that they were going to come back the next day. If I didn't check the roof and the work - they would not have returned.
