Has for over thirty years been a practicing RIBA Chartered architect and has extensive knowledge and experience of architectural and construction practice. Before setting up John Eaton and Company in 1992 he was a partner in two well established architectural practices based in the Midlands. In addition to general practice John Eaton has a considerable experience in expert and specialist consultancy.

He has an extensive experience of construction disputes, construction arbitration and construction adjudication. He has given evidence at court and arbitration proceedings. His central philosophy is that in providing expert advice must be based on a continuous experience of contemporary architectural practice.

For this reason, as a RIBA Chartered architect Dr Eaton is able to provide expert advice based on the day-to-day experience of a working architect and not from an idealised academic perspective. He has been appointed by many of the leading firms of construction lawyers to provide expert advice in construction industry litigation, arbitration and adjudication proceedings.
Services
Serious malpractice and fraud are increasingly being investigated by the accountancy profession. In many cases, detailed knowledge and experience is necessary to understand the technical documentation and practices current within the construction industry. John Eaton has provided forensic consultancy services and expertise to major firms of accountants in these areas.
The legal system recognises the need to resolve a construction dispute with greater speed and effectiveness. Parties are encouraged to follow a range of alternative paths before subjecting their differences to the cost and rigour of formal legal proceedings.
Sound commercial, and practical advice at the inception of projects is essential to ensure that the right problem is being tackled. Too often projects start prematurely and mistakes are made that prove to be detrimental throughout the development of the design. These can be expensive to correct and are often difficult for those involved to admit to.
