James started his career working for Charles Stoddart - the original Apples and Pears man, specialising in the pruning and care of fruit trees.
When Charles retired James took over the business and has since expanded the business considerably. He has branched out (excuse the pun!) to encompass landscape gardening and tree care, however his true passion will always be with fruit trees, orchards and ornamentals. Starting with a free no obligation quotation James is happy to carry out a site visit to assess and discuss your requirements. We will then provide you with a detailed quotation and plan of action. Every job is overseen by Director James Bloor who will allocate one or more of our qualified team members to carry out the required work.
James started his career working in private orchards 20 years ago. It was his passion for trees that led him to further his career and expand his knowledge in general tree care and landscape gardening. James has a RHS Advance Certificate in horticulture and climbing qulaifications from Brinsbury College.
From the removal of a large dangerous or dead tree to the expert pruning of your favourite apple tree Apples and Pears assess every job equally with the same care and attention to offer the best solution. Once a tree has been cut to the ground level or removed, the stump is removed using the stump grinding technique.
Apples and Pears offer a full range of fruit tree pruning services and orchard maintenance. We specialise in orchards which balance fruit production with supporting wildlife, however, we also prune restricted form fruit trees such as espaliers and cordons. Whether your orchard is yet to be planted or fully mature, we can help to keep it beautiful, productive and teeming with life.

To compliment soft landscaping and allow the softer elements such as the flowers to perform, Apples and Pears have also built raised beds using oak sleepers, wisteria walks and pergolas and installed trellising and fencing.
