At City Gardens, we cover all aspects of landscaping, from helping you develop your garden ideas and working through the planning stages, all the way to the actual construction. Our expertise covers a whole range of aspects of landscape design, including the construction of patios, drives, ponds, decks, pergolas and walls, as well as planting.
Having been recommended to us by another Sidmouth client, I was called in to view this "potential filled" garden! The brief was to redesign the area with low maintenance a priority and no lawn whilst leaving the existing terrace untouched. Low maintenance does tend to conjure up images of great swathes of ground cover shrubs and of course this can work but it is not the only solution and neither is the prettiest.
This client was recommended to us by the builder who has renovated the property. The client lives in the South East and had used a garden designer from Surrey to design a very modern garden to complement the contemporary upgrade of the house. Materials for the construction work were selected by the client in collaboration with myself and included the very latest in ceramic paving.
Our garden design was installed from scratch by City Gardens and, despite encountering some very extensive subterranean tree roots that needed to be removed, it now looks brilliant! The work involved the construction of an extensive patio, brick paved areas, lawn and gardens. Their attention to detail and concern for the aesthetics was evident throughout and we have no reservations about recommending them to others.

City Gardens tendered a very reasonable quote which we accepted. They started work on time and completed a complex project within the agreed timescale. The team leader and his team were excellent, providing valuable tips on how to improve the project. They were extremely professional throughout. The standard of the work has been excellent. They take professional pride in their work. We are very pleased with the outcome of the project and would have no hesitation in recommending this company.

Appalling planning and workmanship, lack of onsite supervision of workmen, no customer service skills by owner who is unpleasant at best. Had to get BALI and Bradstone Assured team involved to deal with our complaint. Eventually agreed to some remedial works however they used the incorrect materials twice amongst other issues. Definitely steer clear of this company. Does not live upto all the hype on their website. A disappointment is an understatement.

Excellent work and done on time and to budget.Pointing of Victorian brick wall done very well.Large planter very well built.Beautiful robust wooden walkway built and wiring for garden lighting was laid.Very friendly team and good tidy workers.Planting was done meticulously.Would highly recommend City Gardens.

City Gardens have transformed my garden with two new ponds, a lovely little deck and some bespoke screening to separate off the utility / vegetable garden from the ornamental area. Everything has been built to the highest standards and finished off with some exotic planting to give a luxuriant jungle feel to the garden. Couldn't be more pleased!
