We have been aiming to employ a gardening firm now for quite a while, as our large and unruly garden had become a bit of a headache, especially finding enough time to attend to it, to keep it at the high standard a proper gardener would achieve. From this online feedback forum and also reviewing their web page, it sounded like JDS Gardening were exactly what we were looking for.
Our Edinburgh Tree Surgery team provide a Tree felling and tree removal service in which we completely and safely remove a whole tree, we then use our stump grinding machine to remove the tree stump altogether. This gives you space, freedom and peace of mind. Sometimes felling trees becomes necessary in cases where trees have outgrown the garden they occupy, have become dead or diseased or simply do not fit the space!
No body likes to see trees cut down but this large sycamore tree that had originally self seeded and the trunk had split off in two different directions. Over the years rainwater had entered and built up within the tree at the split. Through time this would lead to a very dangerous situation with the tree being unsafe.
After felling a tree stump grinding is the Final step in complete tree removal. Why stump grind? If the stump is just left not only can they pose trip hazards, they are also subject to fungal rot and become an ideal spot for pests. Honey fungus can become a serious problem in your garden and stumps are often the source of infection.

I would highly recommend JDS gardening to anyone. We had a very complicated problem with our garden (that was to do with landscaping and previous landowners causing a mess in the garden). JDS were very helpful with getting everything sorted and the garden is now nice and safe. We will use your services in the future thanks a lot JDS!

Hired JDS to do a big clean up of a very over grown and unkept shared garden. They Were incredibly professional and very polite guys.
Job was completed in one day as quoted by Alex and the two guys who came did a stellar job. Will definitely be getting them back for the next job!

We had a large bed in the garden with many overgrown shrubs - they had grown into mini-trees - roots too big for us to tackle. JDS came, had a look, gave an estimate and agreed a date.
Two cheerful young men arrived on the dot and did the job perfectly - and removed all the debris. I now have a new bed to fill with colourful flowers. Roll on summer.

I used JDS for several years as a garden maintenance service and only stopped because I moved house. I loved the way their service was structured with easy, regular payments. The gardeners always turned up when expected and did a great job, so much so that I was able to trust them when I lived abroad to keep the garden looking good whilst I was away. They have done extra work as requested, always to a good standard. I have happily recommended them to friends and to the new owners of the house knowing that JDS will do a good job.

I was visited by Alexander who assessed what was required to get a very overgrown hedge back in check. He was so knowledgeable and professional. I accepted the quotation emailed to me within short order and the job was completed within a few days of accepting the quotation. I must say that JDS have exceptionally good customer service. Joanne, within their office, was totally up to date with the job in hand. The two staff who came to the property were very easy to talk to and did a brilliant job, exactly as I had outlined when speaking with Alexander.
