Robert Hutson Architects is an architectural partnership practicing from the village of East Hanningfield in Essex. The Practice was formed in 1982 and has grown steadily since inception. We initially established our reputation in the design of significant houses for individual clients. Our client list contains blue chip companies and significant institutions.
In the University sector, we have undertaken commissions for six Universities in London and the South East of England. In the field of Performing Arts, we have carried out projects for The Really Useful Theatre Group, who own and operate 16 London Theatres in significant listed buildings. For Club Quarters, an American hotel chain, we have designed three hotels in London and have completed three commissions in America.
We are currently working on a new hotel for this client in Lincoln's Inn Fields. Outside of London, we have designed theatres, performance spaces, bars and restaurants numerous clients. Within the Housing sector, our clients are the major residential development companies.

Services
As an Architect, I have always believed that design does not stop with the external fabric, but carries on through to the total environment; this includes furniture design. This philosophy was practiced in its most perfect sense on my own house, where having designed and constructed the house, I then moved on to design and make, many of the pieces of furniture.
As the Practice has expanded, the need to maintain a research and design led culture has become more important and challenging. Robert takes the lead in this, guiding the initial project strategy and maintaining the office ethos with regular project reviews. Outside the office Robert is instrumental in presenting the Practice to a wider audience.
