There are many aspects to consider in the design and manufacture of your granite worktop. And such considerations run all the way to the edge of the surface, and how that edge is finished. Sometimes referred to as an "edge profile", this will literally be the curve at the edge of your worktop. Examples are given below to ease the decision making process.
Granite is a natural material; cooled magma born of the earth. Tough but elegant, its unique properties mean that it has become ubiquitous in its uses, ultimately moving into the home itself, where it has proved ideal for uses in floor and counter surfaces. In the 21st century, a solid granite surface now signifies the perfect aesthetic feel for a modern kitchen, hallway or bathroom, equally solid and stylish, durable and practical.
Quartz countertops are man-made slabs of stone containing around 90% quartz and 10% binding polymers and coloured pigments. The high quartz content means the countertops are exceptionally hard and durable. Tough and very resistant to scratches, chips and stains allows the countertops to last for many years, as the daily wear and tear of banging down pots, pans, knives, cups, and plates has little affect.

Work tops look lovely however excess glue on joints. Requested Martin pop and rectify the problem. Martin made arrangements to sort on numberous occasions but never turned up and never offered an explanation the last being 8/2/19. The work tops were fitted nearly 12 months ago and paid for on the same day maybe this is a lesson to be learned. Had we not have paid he would have called and rectified the problem. Very disappointed

Black granite work tops supplied by graniteline middlewich some 6 months ago complained 3 times about the surfaces staining and absorbing the polish with in the first 3 weeks. martin came to polish them again but went worse. Complained again in, A friend has just had her worktops done by another Company - brilliant. Would I recommend multigranite - certainly not !
