Kate Stoddart Ltd is a RIBA Chartered Practice specialising in domestic architecture: from new build houses to extensions, loft conversions and internal reconfiguration projects. Kate's preference is for light, transparent, contemporary architecture which meets the needs of her clients. Kate helped us every step of the way, with great ideas, plans and drawings, obtaining planning permission and directed us on finding the right builder.
For me, being an Architect is about understanding and delivering my client's ultimate requirements. As a Mum of two (and dog owner!) I understand how a family uses space, and also how personal and intimate an architectural project can be. After fully renovating and extending four homes for my own family, I've experienced first-hand the excitement, nerves and frustrations a building project can create.
We are excited to share the news that our last home, Aylesford House was used as the principal location for a new ITV series, Finding Alice, on air this January. See if you can spot the additions made by the production team! House spotted by a location scout when marketed for sale by TMH. Chosen as the home of the lead character Alice (played by Keeley Hawes) and her architect husband Harry, following the move into their new house.
Kate worked for us between 2014 and 2016. Together we planned a very significant redevelopment and extension of our Surrey property. We found Kate was very easy to communicate with, trustworthy, organized, well connected and efficient, and she knew the rules. She encouraged us not to do the first simplest thing and helped us to mix old and new styles.
