Lead is more commonly used on the roof in valleys where two roofs meet where slating or tiling would not be possible or at the sides of dormers where the dormer cheeks meet the main roof, more detailed leadwork would be the capping of skew stones where the skews are no longer able to keep the water out and also the welding of lead expansion joints into lead box gutter sections.
