Working from a semi detached home in Wincobank, Sheffield, we installed our first boiler back in 1968. The Vulcan Continental boiler was installed in a house in Brinsworth, Rotherham. Some years later the boiler was salvaged when we upgraded the heating system. You can see the original Vulcan boiler and get a glimpse of the future, today in our working showroom in Barnsley.

If your boiler is more than 10 years old then you may want to consider replacing it with a new high efficiency condensing boiler which can help you lower your annual fuel bills and your homes carbon footprint. An old non condensing boiler, whether it is a Conventional, System or Combi Boiler, is only around 75% efficient whereas a new Condensing boiler can be around 90% efficient.

For those who live in off gas areas there are alternatives to natural gas boilers including LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas), Oil and Solid Fuel.

Ordered something on a Friday, expecting it to be delivered early the following week. Chased it up the following week only to receive a rude message back from Danny (Warehouse manager). All I want to know is where my order is, its a simple ask. It stated that the team were processing the order
I then chased again to be told it would be with me on the Friday, surprise surprise it wasn't, its now Saturday and despite messages on both Friday and Saturday I have had nothing back. My account still remains at the team are processing the order.

From start to finish the whole team have been so professional, accommodating and supportive. The initial survey with Robin put my mind at ease at what we wanted to achieve, no pressure sales, just good honest advice, constant communication helped me design the solution I wanted. The team supplied and fitted an brand new Worcester Bosch High flow boiler plus Nest Thermostat, including removing the hot water tank and header tanks of the old system to make way for the new bathroom. The only tradesmen I have come across who clean up after themselves and wear shoe protectors whilst inside property. They liaised with me with various options for the installation of my new bathroom advising me as to what would be cost efficient, as well as providing helpful reminders to service my boiler on an annual basis. Bumfords are polite, friendly, respectful and I would fully recommend.

Regarding BHL's customer service for their internet sales......
Awful awful service, worst ever
They tried everything to prevent / delay giving me my refund for faulty goods. Abrogating their responsibilities under consumer law.
- Tried to get me to confirm it was faulty by me calling the manufacturer
- Said 'let me talk to my supervisor, I'll call you back'......then not calling back
- Tried to get away with me sending goods to their supplier then waiting for goods to arrive at their supplier before refunding me
- Claimed my goods had not arrived at their depot and not accepting
