Settle and Green is a multi-disciplinary design practice specialising in new build projects, all aspects of the Built Heritage, residential extensions and remodelling for home owners. Our experienced professional team consists of experts in Architecture, Planning, Heritage and Building Control.

We specialise in Heritage and Listed Buildings projects and other Historic Property, working sensitively and successfully in Conservation Areas and Green Belt settings to achieve integrated and sustainable solutions.We Design Beautiful Bespoke New Homes, extensions, conversions and retro fits, providing ECO friendly solutions.

We produce feasibility studies, conceptual design and visualisations to explore the best and most economic options for our Clients, incorporating contemporary and sustainable design. Preparation of Planning Applications for submission to the Local Authority. Including pre-applications, full applications, with plans, documentation, Design and Access statements as an examples.

The three Directors each lead their own areas of specialism in Architecture, Building Control and Planning & Conservation; and work in combination as projects cross the boundaries of their expertise. We specialise in both cutting edge contemporary design as well as heritage projects working on a diverse range of houses from Listed Buildings to New Eco Homes.
We sent Alan a brief and some pictures of what we would like to achieve with a loft lift prior to our meeting as our neighbours have had an overbearing loft conversion and we have lost privacy. By the end of the meeting and restricted by our budget Alan has come up with fabulous design. We had been told by a previous architect that it would be best knocked down and replaced with a new build in other words the easiest most expensive option!

Alterations, Extensions and Detached double garage - Berden, Uttlesford - GREEN BELT, GRADE II LISTED BUILDING. This client owned a listed property in the green belt and approached our Practice having received Planning refusals including adverse appeal decisions in the past.
The end result: We achieved full planning consent for everything that we asked for. An outstanding and very cost effective achievement that I do not believe we would have achieved elsewhere. Alan was able to use his technical knowledge of planning rules and his creativity to deliver all of our requirements.
