Mike Burke (MD) obtained a BA Hons degree in environmental design at Portsmouth University and after living in London and Bristol moved to Cornwall in 2003. Having worked with, and introduced other companies to SIP construction, at the beginning of 2016 Mike decided to set up his own company. At Sip Hus our aim is to offer a flawless specialist service from beginning to end.
SIP construction is rapidly becoming one of the most popular forms of construction in the UK. Due to its unique make up you can push the boundaries of traditional engineering and achieve open spans and stunning buildings far beyond the reach of traditional methods.
Downstairs the clients have gone for a stunning open plan living area, plus a kids den and a utility room and that all important downstairs toilet! Our team erected the SIP structure in just 11 days. We had a few days of very bad rain but unlike wet trades that would have had to stop work we were able to continue the build and deliver on time.
Structural Insulated Panels (or SIPS) are a high-performance engineered wood product with a super insulating core of rigid expanded polyurethane sandwiched between two layers of Oriented Strand Board (OSB). SIPs are manufactured under factory controlled conditions and can be custom designed for each home.
