In 2006 after 20 years at 24 Crown Road, we moved to our new Showroom at 35 Crown Road, just across the road from the original shop. Although our Showroom is based in St. Margarets, Twickenham our work is not just local and we are happy to Estimate and carry out work in various areas. Supplying and fitting of all types of carpet, vinyl, marmoleum, cork, solid and engineered wood, bamboo and laminate flooring.

We supply all types of Carpets, Safety Flooring and Carpet Tiles for Commercial locations such as schools, offices, retails outlets, surgeries and care homes etc. Within our Showroom we have displays and samples of Joseph Hamilton & Seaton (JHS) carpets & tiles, Tretford carpets & tiles, Gradius, Karndean Design Flooring, Polyflor & Altro Safety Flooring, Windmoller and many more.
We undertake all flooring work, from a small bathroom to large commercial contracts such as schools, colleges and residential care homes. Supplying and fitting all types of Carpet, Vinyl, Marmoleum, Cork, Wood, Bamboo and Laminate Flooring. Sanding, varnishing and finishing of existing floorboards, also undertaking any sub-floor repair work required ie screeding and repairing joists etc.
Newly-laid carpets sometimes develop what appear to be patches, which happens after the tufts have been compressed in different directions. As soon as the carpet is vacuumed, the tufts will return to their upright position, so we recommend that you vacuum your new carpet as soon as it's laid. Regular vacuuming is good for your carpet.

Not sure if Herdman has gone out of business, we have an order (and have paid a large deposit) with them but left several messages a several weeks ago - now we've not been able to get through on the phone or email for the last 2 weeks. We used them a few years and they were excellent but not sure what has happened.

Honestly the nightmare I had with this company I wouldn't wish on anyone. Not only did the Herdman rep ( Debbie ) get the installation date wrong but I had to do all the chasing. Door bars, refunds, you name it. The number of times I requested they call me Vs email was a joke. Yet they still emailed me. I have no idea how this company is in business. I wouldn't purchase a rug from them let alone carpet. Stay away, they have no regard for customers.

Terrible, terrible customer service. Although I am a big believer in trying to support small and local businesses, I have to say unfortunately this company is the worst I have ever had to deal with. You practically have to beg them to let you give them your business. They never follow up, they constantly over promise and under deliver. The product that was eventually installed was installed without any care and attention. I have continually tried to contact them to rectify it, they keep promising but now are just ignoring me. I cannot recommend them at all.

Contacted Herdman Family Carpet Shop as I was looking to replace my carpet.
They provided me with a quote which I agreed to proceed. On the quote there was a £100 to remove any left furniture so they could install the new flooring. I removed everything myselft apart of one big bookcase. When they came to install the floor they said they wont move it since it was too big (they saw it before..?), so they started the installation with the bookcase still there. In the end the installation was done to a good standard. However it was a big pain to chase them every day to see when they could come to
