Jonathan Sainsbury (UK) Limited, is a family run business with four generations of experience in the field of furniture restoration and conservation. Our large team of qualified craftsmen employ many of the same traditional techniques as our ancestors and keep up-to-date with advances in knowledge and skills to ensure that each piece of furniture is sensitively and accurately restored to its original inherent beauty.
The Sainsbury family antiques and cabinet-making business was established in Dorset in 1918 by Daniel Sainsbury, Jonathan Sainsbury's great-grandfather. Clarence Sainsbury, Jonathan's grandfather, then took over the running of the business, followed by Thomas Sainsbury, Jonathan's father. Thomas Sainsbury is a well-known and highly respected antiques and fine arts expert, so Jonathan Sainsbury grew up immersed in that world.

BEWARE POOR QUALITY INDONESIAN IMPORTS FROM ABOVE WORKSHOP.
I've recently been handed some furniture made from Jonathan Sainsbury to restore, the pieces being Indonesian the indonesian mahogany is evident and unmistakable, chrest rails on the chair have been doweld on, I restore antique furniture and the pieces that came into my shop are rubbish the customer purchased them from Jonathan a couple years back and the pieces needed some work on the construction and some other minor damage. I live locally
