Our shutters is made with traditional carpentry techniques. This includes the use of mortice and tenon joints for strength and stability, and engineered laminated stiles to prevent warping. Once hand finished they are covered with a clear UV coating to help prevent fading caused by direct sunlight and given a final visual inspection.
A practical and stylish choice, offering fantastic control over light and privacy. Tier-on-tier shutters are made in two sections, allowing you to open the top and bottom sections independently from each other. This is really beneficial for rooms where privacy and light control are both important considerations, and also for multi-use spaces where you need flexible control over light.
Tilt control rods are used to move the louvres up and down. There are 3 options for the position of the control rod, these being: offset to the side of the shutter, in the middle of the shutter and a hidden control rod mechanism which is machined into the stile and hidden from view. With the hidden option all the louvres move when one is pushed.
They provide many benefits over conventional blinds and because they fit directly onto the double glazed frame they allow you to open your windows and doors without having to pull up the blinds first. There are other benefits too. They keep out more light than traditional blinds and your window sills are freed up so you can continue using them as normal.

Found them online along with multiple other providers - they are all doing constant promotions. I called 3 providers round to view my job - David Garcia turned up from Habitat. He was by far the most professional, least sales push and most responsive. He’s well informed and knows his product. Another major national supplier was the complete opposite! So, leap of faith with David - and he didn’t disappoint. On time, good communication throughout and never over promising. Just had the shutters installed found the whole experience very pleasant. David was very friendly and explained all the options. Order arrived early and was installed before scheduled time. Fitter Christian was very experienced and friendly. Great end result and we are very happy with the end product. Highly recommend Habitat shutters.
